Bioinformatics Associate Degree Program
Oklahoma City Community College currently offers a biotechnology associate degree program, the only one of its kind in the state. Launched in 1998, the biotechnology career program prepares students to become technicians in the growing Oklahoma biomedical research enterprise. Dr. Charlotte Mulvihill directs this program. Internships are a required capstone experience. Because of the success of the program, the college has been approved by the State Regents for Higher Education to develop a bioinformatics program. INBRE will provide support for faculty to direct the program due to begin in fall 2005.
